Board Members for PORCA
The PORCA Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers who uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and guiding principles as an inclusive, fun, and community-focused non-profit. These behind-the-scenes heroes make the decisions that shape PORCA’s direction and policy. They work closely with diverse agencies, Rightsholders and local stakeholders, to grow mountain bike access and infrastructure.
Our 2025 Director elections will take place at our AGM on October 10th, and we have Director positions up for election. We’re looking for individuals who want to be apart of shaping the future of mountain biking in Pemberton.
We are searching for members to fill the following vacant board positions:
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Director of Trails and Advocacy
Desired Skills & Experience for the 2025 Board
General:
Governance & Compliance: Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks to ensure organizational compliance.
Leadership & Strategic Planning: Proven ability to guide an organization’s vision and mission.
Organizational Development: Skilled in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for growth and improvement.
Grant Writing & Fundraising
Financial Experience:
Expertise in managing budgets, fundraising, and ensuring the financial health of the organization.
Grant Writing: Proficient in crafting grant proposals to secure funding for projects and initiatives.
Advocacy & EDI
Advocacy:
Dedicated to promoting the organization’s mission and values, with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
Community Engagement: Committed to fostering community involvement and participation in all organizational initiatives.
Trail Maintenance & Building
Sustainable Trail Development:
Experienced in planning and implementing sustainable trail building and maintenance
Trail Project Coordination: Proficient in planning, coordinating, and executing trail maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation projects.
Youth Programming
Collaborative Experience:
Proven experience working with volunteers, community members, and partner organizations to achieve common goals, with a passion for developing youth programs that engage and inspire.
We’re always looking to expand and diversify our Boards skills and experience. These skills are not mandatory, and we strongly encourage all passionate candidates to apply for a position on our Board.

Time Commitment
Board Directors are expected to spend 4-10 hours per month on PORCA work, including but not limited to:
Preparation for and attending Board meetings (typically held once a month)
Assist the President/Chair and other members of the board in planning, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives.
Have a thorough understanding of the club constitution, rules, by-laws, policies, and procedures and ensure that they are adhered to and promoted throughout the club’s day-to-day administration.
Volunteering at PORCA events throughout the year (ie: Fivers, AGM, Enduros, trail days, fundraisers)
Supporting staff with occasional operational needs
All board members may participate in a variety of activities such as supporting trail builders and trail days, leading and/or participating in committees, leading social rides, presence at community events etc. It’s a team effort!
